PROJECTS
Pastor Jorge and Rosa  have been pastors in the Tijuana area for many years and  at this church location in East Tijuana for the last 10.  They are wonderful pastors with a heart for the people and a heart for missions.  The church is located in one of the older colonias of the city that is very heavily populated.  God has been blessing and their congregation has continued to grow.

The original church building was old and parts of it were falling in.  The roof no longer held out the elements and the structure would not hold up to remodeling or expansion.  The old building (above) had to come down to make room for a brand-new church facility to house the new congregation.  The plan was to put the necessary steel & cement columns around the existing church and build a new church above the old structure, which would allow the congregation to continue services in the old building. Then as portions were completed, the old structure was torn down.

Thanks to 14 teams from the US, the basic structure has been completed. The pastor and members of the church continue to work to complete  the final phases of construction, and the dedication service for the new facility was held September 13, 2009.  To God be the
IGLESIA MONTE HOREB - Colonia Los Alamos, Tijuana, Mexico
Pastors Juan Martin         & Martha
Pastor Juan Martin and his wife Martha have been pastors of Templo Monte Horeb for 20 years.  While the church has had consistent growth over the years,  several years ago work on a new sanctuary was started as the congregation was spilling out the door with standing room only.

The church was able to purchase land behind the existing building, and expand the sanctuary the full length of both properties.  This allows for parking, fellowship hall and classrooms on the first floor.  After the first half of the building was completed, the old sanctuary was torn down and the second half of the new building was erected in its place.   The main structure is complete, but there is still much interior work as well as the exterior to complete.  We need teams to help with tiile work, drop ceiling, etc

This is a church with a vision and part of the vision of these pastors is to build a Christian school, day care and children's home on the property adjacent to the church.   It is a tremendous project for the future, but  this pastoral team and church have a great vision for the lost. and hurting of their city.
CURRENT CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS
Without the help of the wonderful churches and individuals who have sacrificed time and finances to come here and partner with us, none of this would have been possible.

A large part of the ministry here in Mexico is the construction of new churches and the expansion and renovation of existing structures.  US teams from all over the country have joined us in the construction of churches and children’s centers in various cities and towns throughout the Baja Peninsula.
Thanks to two great teams from Pennsylvania, retaining walls have been built, the foundation and columns are in place, and the steel for the second level is being prepared.  The next stage will require groups that can pour cement floors on the ground level, and also for the floor of the second level.  Following that, plumbers, electricians, framers, and construction workers will be needed.
The finished project is designed to hold 300 in the main sanctuary.  After the construction of the sanctuary is complete, the existing building will be torn down, and rebuilt as classrooms, and administration offices.  Please join with in prayer for the completion of this great ministry.
Templo Cristiano Sinai is located on the east side of Tijuana, Mexico.  Pastor Tito and his family have been ministering at this location for 14 years.  The existing church of rustic construction was built 28 years ago.  The congregation has outgrown the present sanctuary, making it necessary to build a new structure.  The land adjacent to the church has been purchased and excavated.  The plan is to build a two-story structure on the new lot, with parking on the street level and the much needed larger sanctuary on the second level.

May  2002, in a little fishing village on the east coast of the Baja pennisula, a new church, Casa de Luz, was born.  Until that time, there was no evangelical church within 150 miles. In this little town situated on the bay overlooking 13 small islands, there were only 600 inhabitants.  The town had electricity from a generator for only part of each day, water for only 4 hours a week and little phone service.  In this place, a beautiful little church was built by two incredible teams from Florida and Utah.

New building for SS classroom, now to be used for daycare ministry
Since its planting, 6 years ago, the church has grown and has become a blessing to the little community.  This tiny church has mothered two other missions in little towns that did not have any evangelical church.  The missions are about an hour's travel from the church and God is blessing the efforts in these two new missions as well.  The little town is growing and now they have 24-hour electricity and even phone service, but water remains at 4 hours a week.

Now, there is a new vision for ministry in Bahia de Los Angeles and that is the vision for a Christian daycare for the children of the village.  During the day, while most of the parents are working, the children are either left to their own devices on the streets or must accompany their parents to work.  While the village appears quiet and tranquil, there is danger for the children left alone---Drugs are a real problem in the community as boats laden with contraband for the North often land here at the bay.  The dream is to build a center for the children to care for them when they are not in school and provide a breakfast and lunch for each child.  While there are some working parents who will be able to pay something for the care of their children, there are other working parents who are not equipped to pay and will be helped by the ministry.  May 2008, work began on this project and a fence was erected and new bathrooms are under construction.  The current need is to finish the daycare facility and equip it for the children, as well as do some additional work on the church building and grounds.

New Hope Children's Home
Praise God!  After a long and difficult search for land in the city and a great deal of prayer, we  purchased land to build a new children's home in Tijuana.  The photo above shows the location.  It doesn't look like much as the land needs to be cleared and made ready for construction. However, we are praising God daily for this awesome blessing and are ready for the new adventure that is before us.

The need to expand has been great for some time, but until recently we were unable to locate land within the city that would allow for the new facility.  At present, there are 30 children in a home built for a maximum of 24.  (To see photos of our children and the present facility, see "Children's Home" on this website.)  Not only is there not enough room for additional children, our present family of children are crowded together a little too close for comfort.  Our present facility has been a great blessing for 17 years, but we have now outgrown our home.  We are now dreaming of a home for our children that would allow us to increase the size of our family and have space outside where the children could play, which is something they do not have right now, and even space for a little vegetable garden. The children have been praying to this end for some time, and they are so excited at the prospect of a new home.

Our need is for funds for the construction of the new home, teams to help build, and on-going support for the children.  Immediately we  began the prep work (architect, city permits, etc) and were able to break ground early 2009.  If God lays this project for the children of Tijuana upon your heart and you desire to be a part of this ministry in some way, please let us know.  We will be glad to provide you with the information that you may need and talk about your involvement in this ministry to the children of Mexico.

In June 2000, we broke ground for a new church in Colonia Matamoros, which was a new colonia in Tijuana at that time.  With the help of 10  incredible MAPS teams, the building was completed in November 2001.  The following teams completed this great church in 18 months:
June 2000 - Trinity Assembly from Nicholson, PA
July 2000 - Praise Assembly from North Versailles, PA
Sept 2000 - Living Waters Chapel from Lebanon, PA
Feb 2001 - Westview Church, Palmdale, CA
Mar 2001 - Church on the Terrace from Ogden, UT
April 2001 - Living Waters Chapel from Lebanon, PA
May 2001 - Westview Church, Palmdale, CA
Sept 2001 - Palomar Heights Assembly from San Marcos, CA
Nov 2001 - Faith Christian Center from Bend, OR

In the last 8 years, there have been many transitions in the church and the area around the church has grown tremendously.  In October of 2008, we were blessed with the arrival of Pastor Bonifacio to the church.  With Pastor Boni has come new life and energy and in just the few short months since his arrival the church has grown and the congregation is infused with a new enthusiasm for service and outreach.  The church was badly in need of repair. Our plan is to help this new pastor restore the church building and bring a new face to the ministry in this area.
